THE POINTING DOG

Owning a dog is very popular in New York City and with that comes the need to keep the sidewalks clean when people take their dogs out for a walk. At one point the city put up signs telling you to walk your dog in the street, not to have the droppings on the sidewalk. Sometimes the dog-walkers didn’t see, or pay attention to the signs, so we stenciled a pointing dog directly on the sidewalk in front of our office. It’s a non-verbal message that’s hard to miss, or misunderstand. Now, there’s a law in New York that dog owners have to pick up after their dogs so our stencil sign is no longer necessary. The pointing dog did a good job during its’ years of service.
